I remember that Dianne. The only answer I know of is change who’s in charge, which means first, VOTE. Second, as I suggest in the article, READ. Most of us have no clue either what’s going on and/or the impact of our actions, and vastly more are totally unaware of the new research that has opened up a tiny bit of our understanding about the world we share with fish, mammals, reptiles, trees, flowers, etc. When we know, we start to change our behavior- out of RESPECT. Third, choose to send dollars and/or volunteer with and for those organizations which represent your most dearly-beloved issue, be that forest preservation, legislation affecting wildlife, the numbnuts who hunt endangered species. There is so much to choose from that all we can do is PICK ONE. Other than that it is too much. I choose to help educate. Based on what I see, research and experience first hand I have deep passions due to that level of exposure. Others, I can only hope to inspire to get engaged at some level. Build awareness. And get after abusers any way possible. We really do not have a lot of time left. Rhinos are likely to be long gone before I die (and I’m 65) so I am heading back to Africa to see what’s left this fall. Thanks for your comments.
