I might add here that in the midst of a disagreement I have the opportunity to learn, expand my understanding, and see through different eyes. This makes a demand on me to drop the walls. We as humans are addicted to being right, which kills more marriages, more deals, starts more wars and ends more friendships than just about anything. Being right implies we’re superior, which is equally offensive. Those who enter a discussion open, soft and curious, learn. Those walk in belligerent, burn.
