I have given you the honor and respect of reading this through several times over, both the before and after. Jay, you have set yourself up to preach, but you didn't do your due diligence. You are welcome to your opinion, but not only do you not speak for me you have no clue what I do, why I do it, what I read, who I read (please see unfortunate comment about echo-chamber) and appear to base your comments on what limited reading of my articles you've done. Those articles don't even begin to speak to the larger scope of where I spend my time, what I inhale elsewhere and who and what inform my POV. That is not intelligent. It is, unfortunately, insulting. I appreciate that you're trying to make a point but the way you have chosen to do it is at best clumsy, and at worst, you lost my respect indeed. It is not that big a stretch to embrace feedback or alternative viewpoints or criticism, all of which, again, Jay, I have written about quite a bit. But to read a piece in which you have the breathless gall to speak for me, to interpret aspects of my inner world to which you are not privy any more than I am privy to your inner world or anyone else's, well. Again, Jay. You operate in this piece precisely the same way most aging white males I know operate. That is a shame indeed. Good luck with that.
