I get your point, and you may or may not have missed mine. As a military veteran and a journalist this was a specific point of accuracy. I don't argue one bit what you are saying, which is why I began my comment with such respect. But out of a regard for journalistic accuracy, again being a journalist, to write that a lieutenant is a high ranking officer is patently incorrect. That in and of it self has nothing whatsoever to do with the issue of humanity, which is the larger and very different issue. The two are separate. I completely and totally agree with you. AND the comment about "high ranking" specifically referred to his Army rank, and was inaccurate. The two are not intertwined, and while I respect you may see them that way, as a military person, and a journalist, I do not. That isn't about being right or wrong, we see this through different lenses. In no way shape or form do I disagree with you about how one should expect equal treatment by the law. My comment had nothing whatsoever to do with that, and I made that very clear-ALL I addressed was the inaccuracy of the term "high-ranking." Please kindly do not take my comments out of context, for the rest of my writing, most particularly as it speaks to BLM and racism where I am top writer on Medium, makes my stance very clear.
