I get it. And Carol, since I have been there, what strikes me is how terribly important it is as professional writers that we recognize the damage this kind of material can do, how it can trigger others- that is to me irresponsible. That if course is strictly my opinion, but as the author of a very powerful book on words, this is toxic food indeed. I use a journal when I am in the dumps. Doesn't make me right, but I don't write them so that others get swept away by the currents of my current state of mind. Of course that's hard work. But again, as someone in my age bracket, you and I earn emotional maturity through missteps like this.
