I find the clergy to be much like doctors when you question them: WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO QUESTION THE ALMIGHTY ME?????? This if course breaks the first commandment but then if you point that out you’d better duck because a chalice is going to be tossed at your head. Arrogance doesn’t brook questioning. When I encounter arrogance, I am encountering deep insecurity and righteousness. That lack of humility which is what Christ taught, is why years and years ago I walked away from organized religion. There are occasional practitioners who were highly instructive on how to walk the talk. But they weren’t church leaders. And that’s the whole point isn’t it?
