I am just starting to look at this, Karen. However, I am a disabled veteran, and there are options that I have which are not available for most. I plan to stay in my home, and where possible, find services if indeed I reach a point where I need help. I am also getting to know a variety of folks very well who are getting into this kind of work, people I can lean on as necessary. I have extra bedrooms if necessary for guests. However this is going to take some real research, for I am not sure I am staying in America. By the time I may need those services it will likely be a very different country, and that may require that I be an ex-pat.

We are NOT burdens on society, Karen. We have done our time, and it's our time to be served if in fact we need it. That society teaches us that we are a burden is appalling. Late in life we become as infants, that is how Nature made us, and we owe an apology to no one for what Nature has created.
