I agree with this with a few provisos, Dennis. As a 68 year old lifetime bodybuilder, I've never competed, never needed or wanted to. However, some of what you've written here about the aging body isn't necessarily accurate. While it is absolutely true that sarcopenia steals muscle mass beginning after our peaks, we can build muscle at any age. What determines that are the things you note, which most folks don't wanna do, which I do: proper nutrition, hard damned work, steady change ups, working with a trainer, and determination. I never quit. At this age I am 9% body fat, and sculpted. It's not impossible to do without steroids but we absolutely HAVE to stop this superhero bullshit. The body I have at nearly 70 is unbelievable, but it's not Wonder Woman.
