I agree, but this article specifically points out that the people whose behavior flummoxes me are those where there is lively, across the board interest where we clearly click. What you describe happens, no doubt. But it is highly unlikely among those that I have met where there is clearly a click, there is clearly a lot in common. The whole point of the article is that the vetting process has already taken place on both sides. Otherwise, why on earth exchange contact information? While I get your point, and have been there when a conversation peters out, the opening story clearly indicates that this lack of interest in the problem. Lack of follow up is.
