Hi Mark,

I”m usually a pretty big fan of your stuff but this line put me off:

we’re all obsessed with ‘Tiger King’

No. We are not ALL. I couldn’t care less, none of my friends care, and most of their friends don’t either. I decry the use of such all -inclusive language in your title, because it implies the entire universe is obsessed with this mindless pap. It suffers from the same assumption that we ALL loved Friends (never saw a single episode) or that we All saw GOT. Nope. Didn’t give a flying damn. Such sweeping statements tend to insult diversity of thought, preference and lifestyle. Your article was fine, but much of what you said also doesn’t reflect my realityor that reality of others who do the kind of work I do. I realize that I may be uncommon in that I quite thive in quarantine, largely because I am accustomed to very long spates of alone time and isolation on adventure travel. But still, when you and I as authors seek to speak for everyone, we are going to be wrong. Invariably. I see a lot of that kind of thing on Medium, and it wears on me. WE ALL, We NEVER, You ALWAYS. No. We don’t. Let’s not insult Dear Reader by making such inane statements which by their very nature are going to be patently false. You’re a better writer than that.
