Helpful, but as a kinesiologist you only focused narrowly. A huge predictor this is from polypharmacy. Those who are past sixty tend to not only be over-prescribed WAY too many drugs ( most quite unnecessary if certain dietary and exercise changes were made to your point) and second, vastly too many OTC drugs, which by themselves cause havoc but in combination with scripts can be damned deadly. As an athlete who is nearly seventy, I limit any and all meds to the minimum, avoid all OTCs unless absolutely necessary and bloody well don't make a cocktail out of them. That combined with a lifetime of exercise and a decent diet devoid of sugar or alcohol tends to not just keep me upright but on the mountain, in the saddle, on the bike, in the kayak. Your points are good. But we ignore drug abuse, which most folks commit without the slightest notion they are doing so. And it is hardly limited to the elderly.
