Given that more than a few of us are on blood thinners, take aspirin or are outright bleeders (that would be me) I might offer that a thoughtful proviso might be appropriate on this. Turmeric is a blood thinner (as is Ibuprofen). While it’s a lovely natural remedy in most cases, people who are not minful, and kindly that’s a lot of folks right now, might read this and think GREAT. Natural remedy. Not in call cases, any more than all of us can drink milk or eat hot stuff.
Please kindly take into account the seriousness of providing these kinds of remedies which could be seriously problematic for folks. Unless you are a doctor, or unless you have those kinds of qualifications, I’m not convinced this is wise. Panicked people do foolish things, and then we can end up with more folks in the ER with preventable emergencies.
I don’t see medical or naturopathic credentials on your profile. That doesn’t mean you don’t have them, nor does it mean your idea doesn’t have merit. I would, since I’m a journalist, have run this by a medical professional first, and included their comments, which might well have also included warnings for people taking certain medications should steer clear. to wit:
People on blood thinners must avoid turmeric
While acid-suppressing drugs reduce the irritating effects of stomach contents, medications like Nexium and Prilosec do…
Just saying. Please be mindful of our impact on others. Thanks.
