Evan, I might suggest, with respect, that you compare this article with the one you wrote for men. This comes across as very long (just look at the two side by side) much more critical, preachy and distinctly unpleasant. It even sounds angry in places. The tone you use for women is totally different. I didn’t find it warm, supportive or helpful. For example, you totally went off on women about the business of kissing their animals. What on earth is up with that? I could just as easily do the same thing about men who post endless mindless photos of themselves with dead fish, dead moose, dead deer, you get the message. Date my dead animal, not me. Or, along the same lines, men who pose with their toys: motorcycles, cars, boats, frankly, who gives a flying you know what? We aren’t dating the damned BOAT.

If you’re going to be helpful, and this falls squarely into the for what it’s worth column, you might tap into whatever is making you preach so very hard to women but you don’t use the same tone with men. You’re pretty crisp and to the point with the guys, but you really harangue in your women’s tips.

That speaks to something you’re trying to fix. We don’t need fixing. Nobody needs fixing, per se. We can use ideas but we don’t need to be lectured about it. It comes across that you have a huge issue with women who buss their Busters. Great. You can handle that in one sentence. There are men out there who don’t mind that one bit, for example. Whether or not this is true for you, I have no clue, but I am telling you how it lands.

You’re missing kindness in this article. That lack of appreciation and support underscores your message, and for my Medium dollar, makes this a difficult read. I don’t get the message you’re trying to help, but rather you’re expressing some heartfelt frustration. That may or may not be the case but that’s how it lands.
