Dreed,

I think location plays a huge part of this. I live- for now- in Colorado. Here we have a huge senior athlete population. I wonder how much religion plays a part, and the more conservative religions may put more pressure on a woman to remain on her place than to explode outward. I exploded, still am. Well, not at the moment. I began by not marrying (only briefly and then done) and no kids, being in the military, and then taking on a whole life vector that was vastly different from women of my vintage. I also choose to hang out with same. The women you describe do not like me, don’t approve, and I frankly don’t care. I am living out on the outer edges, leaping out of airplanes and off bridges and doing some pretty extreme things. Nobody needs to be jealous. Hit a gym. Get active. When thing settle down, buy a plane ticket. Then stay gone a while. See if those don’t change up some of your characters.
