Dr. Y I’ve done my best to write about my experience. I look at how hard it is for me to see work by my favorite authors that I used to follow: I NEVER see their work any more. So, they don’t get paid because I can’t find their work. I just want to spit every time some idiot newbie tells me to just hit the follow button. Of course, you fuckwit, some of us have been on here for years at this point. Ya think we might have sorted that out by now? My income was stripped at the same time that followers communicated to me that they had turned to reading me on Twitter, which is nice but I don’t get paid, which after having my earnings on Medium gutted, might be nice. Medium stopped responding to emails months and months ago, which to me speaks to a level of chaos and confusion, an impression which is underscored by all their job listings on Linked In. I found it sadly hilarious that Medium wrote all about itself and last year in their 3 minute column but somehow failed to mention how they righteously fucked their writers with all their mindless, idiot changes and updates. I’ve rarely watched a messier year, where folks worked awfully hard to annoy, damage and piss off the people who do the hard labor- the writers, as well as damage trust, their reputation as well as their standing among those of us who have made them valuable. And it’s not just me: I’ve gotten plenty of emails from fellow writers who say the same.
