I would add to this that those who provide those diagnoses (including Freud and all who came after) are as deeply troubled, psychotic, and bedeviled with issues as anyone they treat. Those who create the tests whereby we unwittingly fill out answers which then point to this or that disease are being fed into a pipeline for drugs, decades of counseling and a very uncertain future. I would posit- since I paid that price as well- that the real healing is what you point out: with some exceptions, we need to go within. With luck, we are surrounded by those who love us and would prefer we not be so medicated that we don’t have a life. Besides, most anti-depressants don’t work worth a crap anyway, and the lie of “chemical imbalances “ has long been proven to be a complete and utter falsehood. Funny. Most folks long before us did perfectly well, and that had a lot to do with not living in an industrialized society with all the invasion, noise, judgment and lack of nature we now deal with every day. But that’s just me. Thanks for your comments.
