Cassandra,

I was thinking about last night’s dinner. I would vastly preferred to have had something like lasagna. I had a bowl of steamed broccoli. This morning, I might have preferred something like Frosted Flakes., I had a couple of eggs cooked in olive oil. I might vastly prefer a Snickers bar. I have an apple. To your point: these are constant, day to day, moment to moment decisions all of which have long term impacts on our health. Research says that fifteen minute jogs can do wonders. A walk, too. When I feel exhausted, if I work out for a few minutes, it’s remarkable how much more energized I feel. Nobody said it was easy. My mother was so concerned about her hair that if the slightest breeze ruffled a curl she nearly fainted. To say the least, she wasn’t in very good shape. These are choices. We can bitch, or we can get up and do the best we can with what we have. Nobody said you had to be an Olympian. Just what small, incremental changes can you and I make to feel better? That’s a very different question.
