Building wisdom is sweat equity and hard fucking work. Of course it hurts. What hurts the MOST is letting go of the mindless notion that we're smart in the fact of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. The act of humbling yourself in the face of endless knowledge and how little the fuck we truly understand is the first step of true wisdom. APPLIED knowledge. Admitting that I don't know shit (and I don't) is the very beginning of wisdom. But folks got no time for admitting ignorance. Or that they might in fact be wrong about anything at all. That is how we remain in a paucity of wisdom.
