Being a long, long long time entrepreneur, this reminds me of a story I read about the guy who was desperate to get married because

The realities of being in business for yourself include finding out how much you don’t know. About (marketing, your audience, your sales pitch, your why, finances, operations, your incompetence as a manager, your woeful lack of hiring skills, your inability to delegate, your inability to let good people do what they hired on to do because of course only you know X, oh I could go on…..)

Millions of us start and promptly fold our Big Dreams within five years. The only reason Trump is still standing is because Deutsche Bank was beyond stupid to try to improve their reputation (Ok I fell outta my chair) by lending him money. All he’s good at is the Art of the Steal. Unless you and I have Nazi in the fam that Deutsche Bank wishes to apologize for but also secretly fund, makes good sense to do ones due diligence ahead of time.

Great advice. I put my health above ALL things. Otherwise I can’t deliver shit to anyone for any amount of money. That’s why I quit my 90-hour weeks for real work- writing, which I love, and adventure travel, which actually pays for itself. To your point: that took decades. DECADES.Umpteen failures.

And I am still an entrepreneur. Good work when you can make it work, but it’s hard work to make it work. Or something like that.
