As someone for whom Gibson was one my reasons (why I will never know) for deciding I had to live in Australia, his slide has been difficult to watch. You didn't mention all the kids, the ex wives, the recent arm candy and kid. You also didn't mention Hacksaw Ridge, which to me speaks to his (really bloody) but extraordinary gifts as a director. Braveheart is one of my favorite films, even if the man can't ride for shit (Val Kilmer sure can, see Tombstone). I loved Patriot. So much work he did I loved. It is damned hard to watch his self-destruction. He needs to stay behind the camera, even if I did once adore those eyes.
