Anne, thanks. I have thick skin, enough so that I've been on Medium for four years. However to your point: I am actively building my own presence on my own website for several reasons: first, I am sick unto death of having Medium slice my income in half the second I reach a reasonable,livable income (four times in one year), and I am sick unto death of having to crawl back up the side of the mountain like Sisyphus to get that income back, which at this point in my life I cannot afford to lose. Those things said: I plan to maintain my presence on Medium, but the bulk of my writing and best efforts will be on Walkaboutsaga.com for paid patrons. Medium aleady has close to 2000 of my articles, there is a huge bank of material. And I need to run my own show. Enough of my readers tell me that the only reason they tolerate Medium is to read my material. So, we'll see if they shift over. I wouldn't read too much into this article, Anne, I make points based on others' bad behavior, which is part of the value I bring to the discussion. What I am doing my best to model is how to make better choices, establish boundaries, and find that spot where social media serves rather than swerves us more deeply into hate and self-loathing.
