Alito (I deign to refer to him as "judge") apparently doesn't do his homework about Santa, either. The original St. Nick was a dark skinned man, either Turk or Greek, the stories vary. But his skin color doesn't. The fact that the original St. Nick was a devout Christian who relieved himself of his riches out of his faith seems to consistently be ignored, if for no other reason than the original Santa isn't the Coca Cola, chubby White guy version. While I know this is a side issue, a part of it does touch this topic, for the widespread ignorance about the original, true St. Nick who got whitewashed and hijacked by American corporations to sell shitty soft drinks. A Black Santa is the real thing. I write about this every single year for this reason. It's a hard truth to swallow, like many historical facts involving dark skinned folks. Again, Allison, I realize this is a side issue but it has an interesting relationship to the argument. But that's just me.
