Agreed, on average. I still found this hilarious. If for no other reason than this: three weeks ago I made a deal with my neighbor, a much, much younger woman with a toddler. I would put in the sweat equity to remove decades of brutally difficult blackberries on the land we both share communally. You can't even imagine how hard that was, root balls the size of bowling balls. but I was out there day after day, pulling these enormous plants out, one after the other. HUGE piles. This woman is barely a third my age and she couldn't even begin to do that work. While I am well aware I am outlier (I won't insult you or any one else by making the ridiculous claim that what is true for me is true for everyone), I keep noticing how many athletes my age or older are incredibly fit. This is just me, Dhimant, but I like to focus on what's possible and use aspirational stories rather than speak too much about trends that reinforce ageist ideas which, while true for some, don't underscore what's possible for so many of us, if not most. I don't argue your research. It's just that in my world I am surrounded by athletic, powerful folks well past fifty. Those make up my reality. Fifty is still very young.
