A wonderful Peter Sellers movie speaks to this : Being There, if I recall correctly.

Next: there is an inverse relationship between how loudly someone proclaims their superiority and proof thereof.

Next: Lao Tzu: he who speaks does not know; he who knows does not speak.

Next: in my own direct experience in the adventure travel space, the biggest loudmouth who claims vast experience is the first POS to shit his britches, run like hell, leave everyone else to clean up his mess and bitch that it was everyone else’s fault.

Next: I Q tests are rigged for folks to set others up to fail so they can win, while masking their own breathtaking mediocrity.

Next: I Q is no predictor of success. Yet we still worship at the altar of this bullshit.

I could go on.

We are more stupid for believing the lies about relative intelligence if for no other reason than our deep and abiding fear that people’s other ways of being brilliant might just strip the paint off our pretty Ivy League footlockers.

Nuff said.
