A profile in courage were the Kavanaugh hearings. If we don’t speak up we empower evil. If someone accuses you of shaming your mother it’s no different from a rape trial that blames the victim for existing while female. My guess? That person did much the same to THEIR kid(s). The truth has a way of bitch-slapping us, Shannon. And when it does, those who are guilty as accused get defensive even when not accused. Medium writers do that to me all the time when I write about being fit after sixty and they lambaste me for all kinds of things I didn’t say, do, write or intend. Which tells me that they are out of shape and pissed off about it. Guilty. Not my fault. Not your fault. The truth is simply the truth. It’s a goddamned gift. If I can’t handle it that’s my fault, not yours.
