A few thoughts: you might like Singlism: What It Is, Why It Matters, and How to Stop It, which came out in 2011. The author is a TedX speaker. The other, while a Millennial, writes a lot about being single but from the dating standpoint: Shani Silver. I am doing some research on this right now because of the extreme discrimination shown against single people by the medical community when they DEMAND that we have someone spent the night or several nights when we have a procedure. It is discrimination to the nth degree and incredibly ageist as well as demeaning. I am just revving up on this one. The issue's been around for a good long time and lots of folks don't face it until they are suddenly single late in life. I am sick of it. We have to lie, and then bribe some Uber driver to say he's a brother and spending the night with us. I will NEVER allow a stranger in my house because of sexual assault. These people are morons and they l live in the fifies when so many people weren't single. Just getting revved up. You're onto something, just know there are some good resources out there on the topic.
